These 2 files (nh311.tar.gz and nh311.big.t.gz) are gzip-ped versions of nethack 3.1.2. The 'big' file is a compilation using a smaller prompt with a screen size of 36 rows by 102 columns. Other than that, they are the same. All the files should be there to run it. All you have to do is gunzip it (I used gzip version 1.1, hence the .gz extension) and then un-tar it. This should be done in the /usr/games directory. The files that are put into a /usr/games/man directory can be moved to /usr/man/man6 (these are the man pages obviously 8*) ). Of course, if you are low on disk space, you can do the following to prevent the tar file from being un-gzip-ped: gunzip -c {file} | tar -xf - Note on size: The tar files are about 1.7 and 1.6 Meg in size. To me this means that the directoryies that will be added, files, etc, will take about 1.5 Meg of space on the disk...Just something to take into account. If you have any problems, mail them to kdc5072@ultb.isc.rit.edu (since I compiled it...8*), and I will see what I can do. Kevin Colagio
